Με την Πράξη Νομοθετικού Περιεχομένου (ΦΕΚ ΄Β 855/13-03-2020), απαγορεύτηκε προσωρινά (από 14-03-2020 έως 27-03-2020) και για προληπτικούς λόγους δημόσιας υγείας, η λειτουργία αθλητικών εγκαταστάσεων και εγκαταστάσεων γυμναστικής. Εξαίρεση τέθηκε για τους δημόσιους ανοικτούς χώρους άθλησης, αυστηρά όμως για μεμονωμένη άθληση.
Επειδή κατά τις προηγούμενες ημέρες, παρατηρήθηκε ιδιαίτερη προσέλευση και συνωστισμός αθλουμένων στον χώρο του Ε.Α.Κ (γήπεδο στίβου) και στο γήπεδο 5χ5 του Προμηθέα, με απόφαση του Πρόεδρου του ΚΑΠΑ Δήμου Βέροιας, ανακοινώνεται η σφράγιση, από την 17-03-2020 και μέχρι νεότερης ρυθμίσεως, των ανωτέρω αθλητικών εγκαταστάσεων προς αποφυγή συνωστισμού αθλουμένων και του συνεπαγόμενου κινδύνου διάδοσης του ιού Covid – 19.
